iPhone 16 Pro Models to Reportedly Get Bigger Batteries Compared to iPhone 15 Series

iPhone 16 Pro

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 series with four models later this year. The standard versions of the iPhone 16 are expected to get an updated design, but the high-end Pro models are expected to see several improvements in key areas such as performance and charging speed. A recent Chinese social media announcement suggests that Apple may increase the battery capacity of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Battery capacity of iPhone 16 Pro models

According to a post (translated from Chinese) by user Instant Digital on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, both iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to receive battery life upgrades. The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a 3,577 mAh battery, while the top-of-the-line iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4,676 mAh battery.

Although Apple has not officially announced the battery capacity of its iPhone models, it is widely known that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have 3,274 mAh and 4,441 mAh batteries, respectively.

If the claim is true, it would mean that the Pro model’s battery will be 9 percent larger, and the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max’s battery will be 5 percent larger. However, it is not known if these numbers improve battery life in real-world conditions.

Fast charging speed for iPhone 16

According to the report, the iPhone 16 Pro models will offer faster charging speeds. Apple has now reduced the charging speed to 20W for the entire iPhone 15 series. With a compatible Apple-certified power adapter of 20W or greater, all variants of the iPhone 15 series can be charged to 50 percent in less than 30 minutes.

However, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max support fast wired charging up to 40W. In addition, MagSafe charging power increases from 15W to 20W.
