International Kidney Transplant Racket Busted in Jaipur Fortis Hospital

Gurugram /Jaipur: An international kidney transplant racket was busted in Gurugram on Thursday. A joint operation by the CM Flying Squad and the Health Department found that kidney transplants were being performed without matching the blood group of the patient and donor.

The racket has links to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. On Thursday, the raiding teams collected several pieces of evidence during the operation.

The CM Flying Squad had received a secret tip-off about illegal kidney transplants. In collaboration with a team from the Health Department, the CM Flying Squad raided a hotel named Babylon in Sector-39.

The raid found that kidney donors were being brought from Bangladesh to Jaipur. Illegal kidney transplants were being performed there. Four donors and patients who had undergone kidney transplants at the guesthouse were also caught.

At Fortis Hospital in Jaipur, patients were charged 10-12 lakh rupees for kidney transplants. The person who donated the kidney was given only 2 lakh rupees.

The main accused, the operator Mohammad Ansari, is absconding.

During interrogation of the accused caught by the CM Flying and Gurugram Health Department team, it was found that a young man named Mohammad Ansari had brought all the people to this hotel in Gurugram. The patients were to be taken to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur for kidney transplants. Two patients had been taken there for kidney transplants and brought back.

The shocking thing is that this kidney transplant racket was being run without matching the blood group of the patient and donor. This is fatal for the patient. The accused used to tamper with the papers of the patient and donor. There is also a suspicion of the connivance of the employees of Fortis Hospital in Jaipur. For this, the police team will go to the hospital and investigate.

Gurugram Civil Surgeon Dr. Virendra Yadav confirmed the matter and shared information with the media. He said that the patients were caught on the spot and their medical reports were seen. During this time, it was revealed that kidney transplants had been performed on patients without matching their blood groups.
