New Delhi, 08 September (Udaipur Kiran) – The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 16-member squad for the first Test match of the IDFC First Bank Test series against Bangladesh. This series marks the beginning of India’s international home season for 2024-25. Apart from the Test series, India will also play three T20 matches against Bangladesh, with the squad for the remaining two matches to be announced later.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has made his return to the squad for the first Test. Pant last played a Test match in December 2022. However, his recent impressive performances behind the stumps and with the bat during the Duleep Trophy 2024 have earned him a spot in the team.
In addition to Pant, pacers Akash Deep and Yash Dayal, who also delivered outstanding performances in the Duleep Trophy, have been selected for the team.
