Hanoi, August 13: A 15-member delegation from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of India visited the Presidential Palace and the mausoleum of Vietnam’s first President, Ho Chi Minh, in Hanoi on Thursday. The delegation is currently on a tour of Vietnam as part of the Annual Youth Exchange Program.
The Indian Embassy in Vietnam shared on social media, “The visit of the Indian Cadet Corps to Vietnam: During their visit to Hanoi, the delegation paid tribute at the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, offering flowers and expressing respect for the popular leader of Vietnam. Following this, the delegation toured the Presidential Palace to learn about Vietnam’s rich history and heritage.”
According to the embassy, the delegation also visited the Hanoi Children’s Palace, where they engaged in discussions with the director about the activities, functions, and the role of the palace in nurturing and educating the younger generation.
At the end of the day, the delegation visited the Vietnam Military History Museum, where cadets learned about Vietnam’s glorious military journey and history. The day was filled with gratitude, learning, cultural exchange, and experiences, strengthening the friendship between Indian and Vietnamese youth.
Earlier on Wednesday, the delegation visited the Indian Embassy in Hanoi and met with Ambassador Tsering W. Sherpa.
The embassy had previously stated, “India-Vietnam defense cooperation. A 15-member delegation from the National Cadet Corps is visiting Vietnam under the Annual Youth Exchange Program. During their visit to the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, the delegation engaged in discussions with Ambassador Tsering W. Sherpa, who provided insights into the multi-faceted, visionary relations between India and Vietnam, including the rapidly growing and strengthening defense cooperation.”
The embassy noted that the delegation will also visit defense, historical, cultural, and educational institutions in Hanoi and Nha Trang, promoting understanding and friendship among the youth of both countries. The embassy emphasized that the Youth Exchange Program is a significant pillar of the comprehensive people-to-people relations between India and Vietnam.
