India Remains Third in ICC Womens ODI Rankings Despite World Cup Win

New Delhi, May 1: The Australian cricket team has maintained its dominance at the top of the ICC Women’s ODI team rankings following the annual update. Despite winning the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, India has secured its position in third place.

Australia remains at the top with a slight drop of two rating points. England holds the second position with 128 rating points, still significantly behind the leading team despite a minor increase in their ratings.

India sits in third place with 124 rating points, a position solidified after their remarkable World Cup campaign, which included a stunning victory against Australia in the semifinals.

South Africa (100), New Zealand (93), and Sri Lanka (89) complete the top six teams. The rankings have shown stability at the upper end following the annual update.

Bangladesh has climbed to seventh place with 73 rating points, surpassing Pakistan, which has slipped to eighth with 72 points. There have been minimal changes among the remaining teams in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Thailand and the Netherlands have temporarily dropped out of the rankings as they failed to meet the requirement of playing at least eight ODIs in the last three years. Thailand needs just one more match to re-enter the rankings, while the Netherlands must play two more ODIs to be reinstated.

The Indian women’s team last played an ODI series against Australia in their home country, where they faced defeats in all three matches despite their World Cup victory.

The annual ranking updates will continue in the coming days, with the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 team rankings set to be released on May 5, followed by the latest ODI Men’s team rankings on May 7.
