Brisbane, November 8 (Udaipur Kiran): The fifth and final T20 International between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane was abandoned due to rain on Saturday. With the series already in India’s favor, the washout confirmed Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India’s 2-1 series victory.
Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first. The visitors got off to a strong start, reaching 52 without loss in just 4.5 overs before rain halted play. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill looked in fine touch — Abhishek scored 23 runs off 13 balls, while Gill remained unbeaten on 29 from 16 deliveries.
Unfortunately, persistent rain prevented any further play, leading to the match being called off. Despite the interruption, India sealed the five-match series 2-1, as the first T20 had also been washed out.
