How to Apply for GST Registration Online
First, visit the GST portal and select the “Services” option. Then click on “Registration” followed by “New Registration”.
Enter the required basic details.
Select “Taxpayer” from the drop-down list.
Choose your state or union territory.
Select your district.
Enter the business name as per PAN records.
Provide your PAN number.
Enter your email ID and verify it using OTP.
Enter your mobile number and verify it via OTP.
Click on “Proceed” to continue.
Complete Registration Using TRN
After this, go back to the GST portal and click on “Register” under the Services menu.
Select the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) option.
Enter your TRN and captcha code.
Input the OTP received on your email and mobile number.
Click on “Proceed”.
You will now see the application status page. Click on the edit icon on the right side to continue.
Fill Application and Upload Documents
Complete all 10 sections of the application and upload the required documents, including:
Photograph
Proof of business address
Bank details
Authorisation form
Details of business constitution
After uploading all documents, click on “Submit”.
Verification Process
Complete the verification process on the verification page:
Confirm the declaration and submit the application.
Verify using EVC (Electronic Verification Code sent to registered mobile number).
Use DSC (Digital Signature Certificate), which is mandatory for companies and LLPs.
Use e-sign method via Aadhaar-linked mobile number OTP.
ARN Generation
After successful submission, an Application Reference Number (ARN) will be generated and sent via email and SMS. This ARN can be used to track the status of your application.
