Hindustan Zinc Organizes ‘Book for Friends’ Initiative at Zawar Mines to Encourage Reading Habits Among Students

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative Shiksha Sambal, Hindustan Zinc recently conducted a unique event titled “Book for Friends” at Zawar Mines, aiming to foster a culture of reading among students. Over 100 students from three prominent government schools—GSSS Newatalai, GSSS Singhatwada, and GGSSS Ramnagar—participated enthusiastically in this educational activity.

The event was designed not just to encourage students to read, but also to inspire them to share books and learning experiences with friends, thereby strengthening peer-to-peer learning. Through various interactive activities, the initiative sought to instill a long-lasting passion for reading among young students.

The program was graced by the presence of senior dignitaries, including IBU CEO (Zawar Mines) Ram Murari, DEO (Salumbar) Kamlesh Patel, and CBEO (Jhallara) Paritosh Sharma. Addressing the gathering, Ram Murari highlighted the crucial role of effective communication skills, emphasizing that strong reading habits are foundational for achieving personal and professional success.

Murari stated, “The enthusiasm displayed by students towards this initiative reflects Hindustan Zinc’s ongoing commitment to education enhancement through various CSR programs like Shiksha Sambal.”

Kamlesh Patel appreciated Hindustan Zinc’s continuous efforts in improving educational resources in communities around Zawar Mines. He emphasized the significance of active reading habits in shaping the academic performance and overall personality development of children.
