Hindustan Zinc Organizes Advanced Breed Calf Exhibition in Jawar Under Samadhan Initiative

Jawar Mines, Rajasthan: As part of Hindustan Zinc’s Samadhan initiative, an Advanced Breed Calf Exhibition was successfully organized at the Jawar Mines Community Center under the company’s rural development program. The event saw participation from over 25 farmers across 15 villages, including a significant number of women farmers, who have benefited from artificial insemination (AI) technology aimed at improving livestock health and productivity.

The event highlighted the progress and impact of the Samadhan project in the region, offering a detailed insight into ongoing livestock development activities. The chief guest, Dr. Rajendra Dorwal, Nodal Officer of the Animal Husbandry Department, Jaisamand, and Ram Murari, SBU Director of Hindustan Zinc, Jawar Mines, presided over the program.

Advancing Livestock Development with Modern Breeding Techniques

Speaking at the event, Ram Murari praised the agriculture and livestock development initiatives undertaken by Hindustan Zinc and the BAIF Foundation in nearby villages. He encouraged farmers to maximize the benefits of these programs, which aim to enhance dairy productivity and livestock health.

Representatives from BAIF provided insights into the organization’s livestock development programs, focusing on the benefits of modern breeding techniques. A special emphasis was placed on the importance of sorted semen technology, which has been instrumental in producing high-quality and productive cattle breeds.

Dr. Rajendra Dorwal, the event’s special guest, educated farmers on ways to increase their income through livestock farming alongside traditional agriculture. He also introduced various government initiatives designed to support farmers and livestock owners.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and hygiene practices for cattle, stating that these factors play a crucial role in ensuring long-term livestock health and productivity.

Honoring Farmers and Recognizing Excellence in Animal Husbandry

A major highlight of the event was the recognition and awarding of the healthiest calves born through artificial insemination. Farmers who contributed significantly to the success of the Samadhan initiative were also honored for their efforts in adopting modern livestock management techniques.

Through the Samadhan project, Hindustan Zinc has successfully improved the livelihoods of over 30,000 farming families across five districts in Rajasthan. Among them:

Over 3,000 women farmers have received training in innovative agricultural practices and integrated advanced farming methods into their daily operations.

More than 5,000 farmers have been trained in modern agriculture and livestock rearing techniques, leading to enhanced productivity and economic gains.

Over 10,000 farmers have benefited from skill-building programs on improved farming techniques and government schemes to support rural development.

15,000+ farmers have received assistance in high-tech vegetable cultivation, low tunnel farming, trellis farming, mushroom farming, horticulture, and other advanced agricultural practices.
