Portal launched ahead of schedule to ensure smoother process for 1.86 lakh eligible students
The Government of Haryana has officially launched the centralized online portal for undergraduate (UG) admissions in government colleges for the academic session 2025–26. The announcement was made by Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on May 19. This year, the admission process begins significantly earlier than the previous year’s June 3 start, aiming to offer a hassle-free and timely experience for students and institutions alike.

Early Launch to Avoid Admission Delays
Around 1.86 lakh students who successfully cleared their Class 12 examinations this year are eligible to apply through the portal. To assist applicants, SMS alerts with the admission portal link have already been sent to eligible candidates.
The centralized admission portal can be accessed via admissions.highereduhry.ac.in. Students are encouraged to register early to maximize their chances of securing a seat in their preferred college and course.
What to Expect During the Admission Process
Within 15 days of the portal launch, all affiliated government colleges are expected to upload detailed course-wise seat availability. Based on these listings, students can choose their preferred colleges and complete the online fee payment through the portal.
The admission process will include three rounds of merit lists, published at seven-day intervals. Students whose names appear in these lists will be able to confirm their admissions online.
After these three rounds, college principals will conduct counseling to fill any remaining seats. Notifications regarding this phase will be published in leading newspapers.
The new digital-first approach is part of Haryana’s broader push towards transparency, efficiency, and ease of access in higher education.
