Chandigarh, May 2: Haryana Governor Aseem Kumar Ghosh visited the Government Model Culture Senior Secondary School in Nuh and the PM-Shrie Government Senior Secondary School in Firozpur Namak village on Friday. During his visit, he highlighted the need for the holistic development of school children.
He also reviewed essential facilities at both institutions, including academic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation, and electricity. The Governor toured primary classes and interacted with students, encouraging them to study diligently and become responsible citizens.
Addressing parents and students after the visit, the Governor emphasized that the holistic development of children is possible only when parents and teachers work together in coordination. He stated that education is not limited to textbooks but also includes sports, health, discipline, and moral values, which are essential for the overall development of students.
Governor Ghosh stressed the importance of strengthening infrastructure in schools and identified access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation, and sports facilities as key priorities. He mentioned that the government is continuously working in this direction and has made special provisions in the budget to enhance these facilities.
On this occasion, the Governor announced a grant of ₹10 lakh each for both schools to improve student facilities. In his address, he urged parents to spend quality time with their children and pay attention not only to their academic progress but also to their behavior and interests. He advised parents to avoid scolding their children and emphasized that values and teachings should be imparted with love and affection.
He noted that children learn more effectively in a nurturing environment, leading to positive changes in their behavior. Recognizing that children often struggle to express their concerns, he stressed the need for open dialogue and encouraged parents to build friendly and trusting relationships with their children.
Highlighting the crucial role of teachers, Governor Ghosh stated that teachers are not just providers of knowledge but also guides and sources of inspiration. He urged teachers to instill discipline, self-confidence, and a sense of patriotism in students.
