Mumbai, March 23: Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder and captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Hardik Pandya, is often in the spotlight for his statements. Recently, at an event related to IPL 2026, he shared insights into the spiritual aspect of his life, sparking discussions once again.
In a viral video from the MI event, Hardik revealed that he listens to the Hanuman Chalisa while driving in his expensive car, which he claims provides him with positive energy. Accompanying him in the video was MI’s batting coach, Kieron Pollard.
Hardik stated, “It’s interesting that I have a Ferrari, yet I still listen to the Hanuman Chalisa in the car. It’s pretty cool. God has been kind to me. I believe everyone would agree that no song can give you as much positive energy as the Hanuman Chalisa does. I am very clear about this.”
His remarks prompted fans present at the event to chant “Jai Shri Ram.”
Hardik Pandya was part of the Mumbai Indians from 2015 to 2021. In 2022, he moved to the Gujarat Titans, leading them to victory in their debut season. Under his captaincy, the Gujarat Titans reached the finals of IPL 2023 but faced defeat against CSK.
In 2024, Hardik returned to Mumbai, appointed as captain in place of Rohit Sharma. However, MI had a disappointing season, finishing at the bottom of the table. The team showed improvement in IPL 2025, making it to the playoffs.
The Mumbai Indians have not won the IPL title since 2020, and under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, the team aims to reclaim the championship this season. Notably, the Mumbai Indians have won the IPL title five times, always under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
