Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria, Initiates Tree Plantation Program

Udaipur, July 8 : The Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria, inaugurated a tree plantation program on Monday at the peripheral area of Jogi Talab in the southern expansion plan of the Udaipur Development Authority. The event saw participation from various dignitaries including Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, former Authority Chairman Ravindra Shrimali, former Girva Pradhan Takht Singh Shaktawat, Councilors Smt. Rajkumari Ganna, Smt. Santosh Menaria, and local Sarpanch Satyanarayan Gameti, who also planted trees and urged all city residents to plant more trees.

Governor Kataria emphasized planting trees around Jogi Talab in a way that prevents the contamination of the pond’s water. He also instructed to plant shade-giving and fruit-bearing trees on the opposite side of the pond to provide food for birds. Additionally, the Governor directed the planting of various species in other areas under the authority’s jurisdiction and stressed the importance of maintenance and environmental promotion.

During the tree plantation event, Governor Kataria, along with the representatives and the authority team, reviewed the ongoing road construction work in the peripheral area of Jogi Talab and discussed any obstacles faced. He also gave instructions to develop landscaping and flower gardens around the gazebos on the pond’s embankment and to protect the area through fencing to enhance its beauty for visitors.

The program was attended by Udaipur Development Authority Commissioner Rahul Jain, Additional Chief Engineer Sanjeev Sharma, Land Acquisition Officer Bindubala Rajawat, Superintending Engineer Anit Mathur, Executive Engineer Vijay Patel, and the entire technical team of the authority.
