The launch of Google’s Pixel, scheduled for August 13, is expected to introduce several new products and is sure to delight everyone. The highlights remain the new Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, but Google has also shared the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Alongside the new foldable device, Google is also expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 3, which will be available in two case sizes of 41 and 45mm, according to previous reports. There’s a huge new leak that appears to contain an official promotional image for the Pixel Watch 3 series.
The Android Headlines report includes a leaked promotional image that hints at a number of details about the watch. Starting with the contents of the box, there are said to be only a few changes compared to the Pixel Watch 2. Both the 41mm and 45mm versions are said to have a set of straps as well as an additional active band in the box. It is also said to include a magnetic (inductive) USB-C fast charging cable with a Type-C connector on one end and a round charger on the other end.
As for smartwatches, the promotional images suggest that the Pixel Watch 3 could come in two case sizes, as seen in several leaks. Judging by the promotional images, both wearables are likely to be powered by the same basic hardware, with the exception of the slightly larger display and larger battery on the 45mm model.
Both smartwatches are said to have an Actua display with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. The Actua brand was boosted by Google’s Pixel 8 series, which introduced Google’s Super Actua display. According to the images, the “Actua” brand claims that the new display is twice as bright and responsive as the previous model.
The regular 41 mm version with standard battery capacity is said to be able to charge 20% faster. Both versions of the smartwatch have a battery life of 24 hours (with always-on display) and up to 36 hours in battery saver mode. These numbers are similar to what Google currently claims for the Pixel Watch 2. Previous reports suggest that the 45mm Pixel Watch 3 will likely come with a 420mAh battery, while the 41mm model will have a 310mAh battery.
According to the leaked images, the new display (specifically the 45mm model) offers a 40% larger display than the Pixel Watch 2 (41mm). The new display in the 41mm version offers a 10% larger display than the Pixel Watch 2.
The promotional images also hint at a variety of interchangeable silicone, fabric and leather options, which were also revealed in previous reports.
As for the new features, the images show that Pixel Watch 3 users can control the Pixel Camera app on their smartphones, check feeds from their Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, access maps offline and pay with Wallet The new model of the Watch is set to offer a new Morning Brief feature that provides an overview of health and fitness metrics as well as the ability to create custom runs and save workouts.
In addition to the Google Pixel 9 smartphones and Pixel Watch 3 series, Google will also reportedly unveil a new Google TV set-top box and a Nest thermostat.
