Google Pixel 9a Early Renders Suggest New Rear Camera Layout, Boxy Design

Google Pixel 9a

Google Pixel 8a was launched in May this year with a new design, Tensor G3 SoC and some artificial intelligence features. Although the phone is still new on the market, the first images of Google’s next-generation Pixel A series (Pixel 9a) have leaked online. Images shared by reliable sources suggest that the upcoming smartphone will bear little resemblance to the Pixel 8a and Pixel 7a. The phone features a redesigned back and does not feature the Pixel-style camera bar.

The Pixel 9a may have a different rear camera layout

A Vietnamese Facebook group has shared an alleged render of the Pixel 9a via ShrimpApplePro (@VNchocoTaco). The renders show this phone with a box design in black colors. The leak suggests that Google has significantly changed the camera positioning on its next Pixel smartphones. Like previous Pixel phones, there’s no camera bar, instead two cameras appear flush with the back of the phone.

The Pixel 9a’s camera sensor is placed horizontally next to the LED flash. There’s a shiny ring around the sensor, similar to the camera band on the Pixel 9 series that launched earlier this month. Additionally, the alleged renders suggest a punch-hole display design for the phone. The edges also look smooth.

Additionally, the manufacturer claimed that the Pixel 9a could launch “later this year” and will be available in four colors, including a new silver color option.

Google just wrapped up a major hardware event that led to the unveiling of the Pixel 9 family. It is not yet clear whether the company will hold a new launch event for the next Pixel A series phones this year or by the first half of 2025. We therefore recommend treating this leak with caution.

The Pixel 8a will be available in India at a price of Rs 20 lakh. The 128GB version costs $52,999, while the top 256GB version costs $52,999. 59,999.
