Google Pixel 8a has been spotted online in images shared by retailers, but the company has yet to announce any launch plans for the smartphone.

The successor to the Pixel 7a is expected to be unveiled at Google’s annual I/O developer conference next month, ahead of the search giant’s global launch. The latest images leaked online show the upcoming Google Pixel 8a smartphone in two colors and the design of the phone seems to match the recent leaks.

Users Previous leaks suggest that these colors will be called Bay and Mint, respectively. The second color appears to be a lighter shade of green than the Pixel 8.

The leaker also claims that the Pixel 8a is already for sale in some markets in Morocco. This is interesting because Google hasn’t released any teasers for the supposed successor to the Pixel 7a yet. Given the company’s launch schedule over the past few years, we can expect the company to unveil the Pixel 8a in the coming weeks. The announcement is expected to take place at Google I/O 2024, which begins on May 14th.

According to previous reports, the Google Pixel 8a uses the same Tensor G3 chip as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro and supports 5G connectivity. The smartphone also features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is said to be an upgrade over its predecessor’s 90Hz display.

It has also been suggested that Google could keep the same camera hardware on the Pixel 8a that was available on the previous generation. This means the phone may have a dual rear camera setup with a 64MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. The phone will reportedly support wireless charging and get an IP rating like last year’s Pixel 7a.
