Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro spotted ahead of unveiling on FCC certification website: details

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be released in October. The company announced the release date as October 4 through X (formerly Twitter).

A few weeks before the announcement, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro appear to have made it onto the FCC’s certification website. The listing suggests that the upcoming Pixel 8 series could come in five flavors. The Pixel 8 Pro was recently spotted on Google’s subscriptions and services ads page, revealing color options and a back design.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were spotted on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) website a few weeks before the announcement.

The FCC smartphone list indicates that the smartphone could be available in five variants. The Pixel 8 model number is listed as GKWS6, G9BQD, GZPF0, GPJ41 and G1MNW, while the Pixel 8 Pro model number is G1MNW.

Additionally, both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro can support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E, Sub6, and mmWave 5G. The FCC is the US government agency that regulates communications. All electronic devices that emit radio waves must be FCC certified.

In the meantime, images of the Google Pixel 8 Pro have also been seen on the Google Subscriptions and Services advertising page. The leaked images show the color options and back design.

This smartphone was criticized for its Chinese white color. It will likely have a triple rear camera housed in a tablet-shaped camera island. In addition, the presence of another sensor in addition to the LED flash is also suspected.

Google Pixel 8 series could also be launched as an eSIM-only smartphone in some regions. The leaked renders suggest that there is no SIM card slot on the left side.

However, these claims are yet to be confirmed by Google, so we recommend taking them with a pinch of salt.
