Udaipur: In a significant development, the Rajasthan government has suspended Nitenrapal Singh, the former secretary of Udaipur Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), on the last day of his retirement. The suspension was issued following multiple complaints against him.
The action comes after Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat wrote a letter to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, demanding strict disciplinary action against Singh and other UIT officials. MP Rawat also forwarded reports from sources alleging financial irregularities and violations committed during Singh’s tenure.

₹1,000 Crore Scam & Allegations Under Investigation
According to audit reports from 2022-2024, media reports, and findings from the Local Fund Audit Department, Udaipur, officials of Udaipur Development Trust (UDT) are accused of misappropriating over ₹1,000 crore and granting unauthorized planning approvals.
The allegations include:
✔ Financial irregularities amounting to ₹1,000 crore+
✔ Approval of unauthorized planning projects
✔ Violation of government regulations
In response, the Udaipur Development Authority Commissioner and several officials have submitted a summary report to the state government, urging strict action against those involved.

Expressing concern over the lack of action, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat had earlier written to the Chief Minister, demanding a thorough probe into the scams during Singh’s tenure. He called for:
