Udaipur, July 14, 2025 – A vibrant celebration of creativity and sustainability bloomed at Art Junction Residency, located on Udaipur’s scenic Ubeshwar Road, with the grand inauguration of “Floral Reverie”, a one-of-a-kind art exhibition by senior Jodhpur-based artist Dr. Bhupat Dudi. Known for his sensitive and innovative artistic expressions, Dr. Dudi’s latest collection redefines art through a striking blend of nature, imagination, and upcycled materials.
Curated by Dr. Chiman Dangi, the exhibition has transformed into a creative laboratory where discarded fabric scraps are repurposed into deeply emotive and visually captivating artworks.
A Unique Medium: Fabric Scraps as Artistic Canvas
What sets “Floral Reverie” apart is Dr. Dudi’s decision to move away from traditional paints and brushes. Instead, he employs waste fabric remnants—usually discarded during women’s sewing and embroidery work—to create textured, layered mixed media compositions. These pieces feature vivid motifs of flowers, leaves, vegetation, and nuanced feminine emotions, evoking a sense of raw, natural beauty.
The initiative not only underscores the importance of environmental consciousness, but also stands as a stellar example of creative recycling in contemporary Indian art.

Held on a serene Sunday, the exhibition drew large crowds including families, young artists, educators, nature lovers, and art aficionados. The presence of notable figures such as senior artist Chhotulal, NIFT Prof. Nilesh Kumar, Additional Director of Police Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, artists Suraj Soni, Amit Solanki, Sharmila Rathore, Bhupesh Dwivedi, Vinay Dave, Jay Sharma (Wildlife Photographer), and many more added to the richness of the occasion.
The organizers described the event as “A festival of colors, where your presence is the most beautiful hue.”
Nature Reimagined: Stitching Beauty into Leaves
One of the most striking elements in Dr. Dudi’s exhibition is his use of real leaves patched with fabric scraps. These compositions, meticulously stitched, blur the line between textile and botany, offering a fresh artistic language rooted in India’s centuries-old “rafoo” (mending) tradition. These artworks evoke a sense of healing and restoration, reflecting art’s transformative power.
Curator Dr. Dangi noted that the exhibition will remain open to the public for the next week, with free entry for all visitors.
