New Delhi, 19 December (Udaipur Kiran) – Leading e-commerce company Flipkart has acquired a majority stake in Minivet AI, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions. The company signed definitive documents on Friday to finalize the majority acquisition in Minivet AI. However, Flipkart has not disclosed the financial details of this acquisition.
Aditya Rachkonda, founder of Minivet AI, said this partnership with Flipkart marks a significant milestone for the company. He added that it will help deploy their proprietary Generative AI solutions, ranging from catalogue videofication to conversational search, at scale on one of India’s top e-commerce platforms. This will make shopping more seamless and immersive for millions of customers. He further stated that this investment will strengthen Flipkart’s long-term technology portfolio and keep the company at the forefront of digital commerce innovation. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.
Ravi Iyer, Senior Vice President of Corporate at Flipkart, described the acquisition of Minivet AI as a strategic investment. He noted that integrating Minivet’s specialized talent and advanced proprietary technology will enhance Flipkart’s core generative AI capabilities, including key solutions for catalogue videofication and semantic search. Iyer emphasized that these technologies are essential to address the growing industry trends of visual-first and video-first commerce. Ultimately, this will drive higher customer engagement, conversion, and long-term innovation on the Flipkart platform and across the wider Flipkart Group ecosystem.
