Rajsamand, October 24 (Udaipur Kiran): In a significant development for southern RAJASTHAN, the Ministry of Railways has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new railway line between Devgarh Madariya and Marwar Junction via Todgarh and Rawli. The proposed line will provide a new rail link between Ahmedabad and Jaipur, benefiting Rajsamand, Pali, and Udaipur districts.

The railway ministry has sanctioned ₹11.75 crore for the survey work. The proposed 72-kilometre-long railway line will play a key role in strengthening connectivity between western Rajasthan and major trade and tourism hubs along the Ahmedabad–Jaipur corridor.
Tourism and Industry to Benefit
Approved under the initiative of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the new line aims to directly connect popular tourist destinations such as Devgarh, Todgarh, and Rawli to the Indian Railways network. The project is expected to give a strong boost to tourism, agriculture, trade, and local industries, promoting economic development in the region.
Progress on Nathdwara–Devgarh Line
Meanwhile, work is progressing rapidly on the Nathdwara–Devgarh Madariya broad-gauge conversion project, covering 82 kilometres at a cost of ₹969 crore. Once both projects are completed, the region will enjoy direct rail connectivity to major cities such as Jaipur, Delhi, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai, enhancing passenger convenience and freight movement across Rajasthan.
