Dhaka, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): The engine and three coaches of the Udayan Express derailed on Monday morning in Mogalabazar, located in South Surma upazila of Sylhet, disrupting train services between Sylhet and the rest of Bangladesh. The incident occurred around 6:40 am.

As a result, the Kalni Express, scheduled to depart for Dhaka, remained stranded at Sylhet Railway Station.
According to reports from Dhaka Tribune and The Daily Star, Abdul Quddus, Officer-in-Charge of the Sylhet GRP Police Station, confirmed the derailment and said that efforts are underway to reopen one of the tracks. He informed that the Udayan Express was arriving from Chattogram.
Nurul Islam, Station Manager at Sylhet Railway Station, said that several passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident. A rescue train and police teams were immediately dispatched to the site, and rescue operations are currently in progress.
