Emirates Resumes Operations Amid Tensions

Abu Dhabi, March 7: Emirates Airlines has announced the resumption of all flights to and from Dubai, which were previously suspended. The airline emphasized that the safety of its passengers is paramount, prompting this decision.

The airline stated that flight services would restart on Saturday, following a temporary halt of operations. In a recent statement, Emirates confirmed, “We will resume operations. Passengers who have confirmed bookings for Saturday afternoon flights can proceed to the airport. This includes travelers with connecting flights to Dubai. Emirates is monitoring the situation and will adjust its operational schedule accordingly.”

Earlier, the company had notified passengers about the suspension of all flights, highlighting that the safety of travelers and crew is their top priority, with no compromises being made. They also provided options for rebooking onto other flights and offered a refund form on their official website.

Meanwhile, the UAE’s Ministry of Defence has confirmed several airstrikes. Reports indicated that sounds heard across the city were the result of the air defense system intercepting ballistic missiles and drones.

On Saturday, two explosions were reported in Dubai and one in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, prompting sirens to sound in the areas. The Bahraini Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents to remain calm and seek the nearest safe location.

These explosions occurred amidst ongoing retaliatory attacks by Iran against Gulf countries housing American forces. Dubai officials had previously claimed to have managed a “minor incident” following debris falling from an interception.
