Udaipur : In a first, Dungerpur municipal council is all set to get constructed a home for senior citizens. The decision was taken after a meeting with a delegation of elderly persons who met the municipal chairman KK Gupta and demanded a shelter home for the people who are left alone in old age either because they don’t have children or they are not taken care by their families.
“An old age home would be built soon for the poor and old people residing in the city. It will be built in Vasundhara Vihar colony in an area of 12 thousand square feet. A tender would be invited soon for the construction of the building having 40 rooms and two large halls.” Gupta told Udaipur Kiran.
“The youths are too busy in their lives that they do not have time for their parents. Hundreds of elderly people feel ignored and left out at a time when they are in most need for love and care” Dr Raman lal Panchal, a senior citizen said. ” The old age home would come as a big relief for poor destitute old men and women who have been suffering humiliation or isolation at the hands of their kith and kin. Such people would get proper nutrition, medicines and care in the shelter home” says Krishna Mohan Dashora said.
