During peak times, only passengers are allowed to enter the terminal, as was the case before Eid al-Adha. Officials advised those carrying passengers to the airport to say goodbye at home.
In addition, access to the entrance areas of Terminals 1 and 3 is limited to public transport and authorized airport vehicles.
DXB is expected to see a “significant increase” in traffic from July 6 to 17, with a total of 3.3 million guests entering and exiting the terminal. 914,000 passengers are expected to depart DXB during this period.
Traffic will peak on the weekend of July 12-14, when DXB is expected to welcome 840,000 passengers, making it the busiest weekend. July 13 will be the busiest day with 286,000 passengers. At peak times, the airport receives an average of 274,000 passengers per day.
Flydubai passengers are advised to be at DXB at least four hours before their flight, while passengers flying on other airlines must be at DXB “at least three hours” before their scheduled time.
This summer is expected to be very busy. Travel agency dnata reports a 35% increase in international travel bookings in July and August compared to the same months last year.
Emirates had previously told travelers to expect more traffic on roads leading to the airport.
Dubai Airports, operator of DXB, advises travelers to use the Dubai Metro to travel to and from the airport and Terminals 1 and 3 to avoid road congestion.
