Srinagar, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran): The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast mainly dry weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir for the next few days, with a possibility of light snowfall over some higher reaches of North Kashmir in the coming week.

As per the forecast, the Union Territory is likely to witness generally dry weather on October 17, 19, and 20. On October 18 and 21, the weather may remain partly cloudy during the afternoon or evening hours.
The department added that light snowfall is likely in some higher areas of North Kashmir on October 21, followed by another brief spell on October 24. Between October 22 and 23, the weather is expected to stay partly cloudy and dry, while most parts of the region may again experience mainly dry conditions from October 25 to 26.
Meanwhile, night temperatures across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir remained above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in the Kashmir division were 1–3°C above average, while in the Jammu division they were 0–2°C higher than the seasonal normal.
Pahalgam, a hill resort in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the Valley at 3.8°C, while Banihal in the Jammu region recorded the lowest at 6.7°C.
