Udaipur, 21 August (Kiran News). The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Pacific University organised the Diksharambh (Induction) programme for new students on 21 August 2025. The event aimed to welcome and guide the fresh entrants as they embark on their academic journey.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Hemant Kothari, as the Chief Guest, and Professor B.P. Sharma, Patron of Pacific University, as the Special Guest. The programme commenced with the traditional Saraswati Puja and lamp lighting by the distinguished guests.
At the beginning of the event, Faculty Dean Professor T.P. Ameta welcomed the guests in the Mewari tradition by presenting turbans and shawls.
In his address, Chief Guest Professor Hemant Kothari inspired the new students to remain focused on their academic goals and motivated them to overcome challenges in pursuit of their ambitions. Special Guest Professor B.P. Sharma encouraged the students to maintain discipline in life and continuously enhance their knowledge and skills.
The event was attended by the heads of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, including Dr. Saurabh Tyagi, Dr. Yashwant Menaria, Dr. Rajesh Yadav, Dr. Gunjan Joshi, Dr. Manoj Dadhich, Dr. Abrar Ahmed, Dr. Meenakshi Panchal, Dr. Leena Sharma, and Dr. Lalit Sharma.
The programme also featured various cultural performances by students, adding colour to the occasion.
At the conclusion, the vote of thanks was delivered by Professor T.P. Ameta, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Several faculty members from different departments were also present at the event.
