DC Triumphs Over RR by 7 Wickets in IPL 2026

Jaipur, May 2: Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a convincing victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets in the 43rd match of IPL 2026, held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday. With this win, DC climbed to the sixth position, having won 4 out of 9 matches, while RR remained in fourth place, also with 4 losses out of 10 matches.

Batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 225 runs, losing 6 wickets. The team had a shaky start, losing both Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) and Vaibhav Suryaanshi (4) within the first 1.5 overs, prompting captain Riyan Parag to stabilize the innings alongside Dhruv Jurel.

The duo formed a crucial partnership, scoring 102 runs for the second wicket off 59 balls. Jurel contributed 42 runs from 30 balls, hitting 1 six and 4 fours, before being dismissed. Captain Parag narrowly missed a century, scoring 90 runs off 50 balls, including 5 sixes and 8 fours, while partnering with Ravindra Jadeja for 53 runs off 28 balls for the fourth wicket.

Donovan Ferreira, along with Shivam Dube (not out on 6), added 40 runs for the sixth wicket in just 15 balls, helping the team reach a formidable total. Ferreira finished unbeaten on 47 runs from 14 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 2 fours. For DC, Mitchell Starc took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Kyle Jamieson, Axar Patel, and T Natarajan each took 1 wicket.

In response, the opening pair of Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul provided DC with a strong start, putting together a partnership of 110 runs in 9.3 overs. Nissanka scored 62 runs off 33 balls, with 3 sixes and 6 fours.

Following Nissanka’s dismissal, Rahul partnered with Nitish Rana for 61 runs off 30 balls for the second wicket. Rahul scored 75 runs off 40 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 6 fours, before being dismissed. DC lost 3 wickets for 177 runs in 15.2 overs but secured victory with a solid partnership between Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs, who added 49 runs off 23 balls. Stubbs remained not out on 18, while Ashutosh finished with an unbeaten 25.

From the opposing side, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravindra Jadeja each took 1 wicket.
