Ranchi, November 1 (Udaipur Kiran). The cyclonic storm Mountha, which had formed over the Bay of Bengal, has now weakened, bringing relief to several districts of Jharkhand that were witnessing continuous rainfall over the past few days. Although the weather improved slightly on Saturday, cloudy conditions persisted in most areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to clear completely from Sunday. In Ranchi and nearby regions, intermittent sunshine and cloud cover continued throughout Saturday.
During the last 24 hours, Dhanbad recorded the highest rainfall at 119.6 mm, followed by Putki (90.8 mm), Barkatha (86 mm), Palganj (50 mm), Konar DVC (48.2 mm), Papkuni (48.2 mm), Panki (41 mm), Topchanchi (39.8 mm), Garhwa (38.6 mm), Namkum (34 mm), Nandadih (33.4 mm), Barkagaon (33 mm), Dumri (32.4 mm), Markacho (30 mm), and Daltonganj (27.8 mm).
Due to Cyclone Mountha, most parts of Jharkhand experienced persistent rain and a dip in temperatures over the past three to four days, leading to a noticeable increase in cold conditions across the state.
In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature was recorded in Seraikela at 33.5°C, while the lowest temperature was 19.9°C in Latehar. The maximum temperature in Ranchi was 26.1°C, followed by Jamshedpur (30.7°C), Daltonganj (30.8°C), Bokaro (29.1°C), and Chaibasa (32°C).
