Udaipur, April 8, 2025 — As part of a state-wide crackdown on illegal mining operations initiated under the directive of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, authorities in Udaipur district are continuing their aggressive enforcement efforts. A coordinated operation involving the district administration, police, transport department, and mining officials has led to the registration of 68 cases and the seizure of over 1,434 metric tons of illegally extracted minerals.
Multi-Agency Operation Underway
District Collector Namit Mehta and Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal are leading the campaign at the sub-divisional level, ensuring that strict measures are taken against violators. Teams formed at the tehsil level are actively monitoring and acting against unauthorized mining, transportation, and storage of minerals.
According to Mining Engineer Asif Ansari, the drive is part of a joint effort involving the district administration, mining department, police, and transport authorities. The operation spans across multiple police station jurisdictions within the district.

In total, 68 legal cases have been filed, and 1,434 metric tons of minerals have been seized. Authorities have also collected ₹8.97 lakh in penalties from violators.

Mining Engineer Ansari confirmed that the campaign will continue in full force and that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal mining activities. The state government aims to curb the loss of natural resources and ensure environmental compliance in the mining sector.
