New Delhi : The Congress on Saturday released its first list of 87 candidates for Punjab. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will contest from Chamkaur Sahib and Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar East.
Congress Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will fight from Dera Baba Nanak. Actor Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sood will contest from Moga.
The Congress faces a stiff challenge from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab. Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress is fighting the polls in alliance with the BJP while the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
