Ranchi, July 25: Senior Jharkhand BJP leader Amar Kumar Bauri has criticized the state government following Sonam Wangchuk’s decision to end his hunger strike, comments made by Congress leader Imran Masood, and the investigation into the alleged Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) scam. He emphasized the importance of respecting democratic traditions in voicing demands, stating that Wangchuk’s decision to end his strike is an example of this respect after positive initiatives from the government.
In response to Imran Masood’s remarks after Wangchuk’s announcement, Bauri accused the Congress and its leaders of prioritizing political gain over national interest. He claimed that Masood and other Congress leaders thrive on chaos, hoping to create an environment where people forget pressing issues. However, he noted that Wangchuk ended his hunger strike in honor of democratic traditions after receiving assurances from the government regarding his demands. Bauri stressed that peaceful dialogue is the way to resolve issues, not violence or coercion, and suggested that Masood’s statement reflects his frustration and unease.
Commenting on the two demands presented by Wangchuk, Bauri stated that the central government has taken positive steps and provided necessary assurances regarding the major demands that could have been addressed immediately. He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to strengthening existing laws to prevent any irregularities in future examinations and ensuring strict action against those involved in exam fraud to safeguard students’ futures.
On the investigation into the alleged JPSC scam, Bauri leveled serious accusations against the state government, claiming that the current investigation is merely a façade. He described it as a scam in itself, alleging that investigative agencies are being used to shield those involved in significant scams with direct government involvement.
Bauri reiterated that the BJP has consistently raised issues regarding irregularities in JPSC, JSSC, and other examinations. He mentioned that the BJP had voiced these concerns throughout the night in the assembly and had previously pointed out irregularities involving blacklisted companies in the recruitment process. He accused the state government of jeopardizing students’ futures for economic gains. Now, as the matter reaches the highest levels of power, he suggested that some individuals are being scapegoated to cover up the entire issue.
He concluded by stating that without a CBI investigation into the entire matter, the true culprits behind the alleged scam would remain unidentified. The BJP continues to demand a fair CBI inquiry into all recruitment exam scams, asserting that only an independent agency can reveal the truth and enable effective action against the guilty.
