Udaipur, March 12, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): In view of the prevailing war-like situation in the Middle East, the Udaipur district administration is on alert mode and continuously monitoring essential supply systems. As part of this exercise, District Collector Namit Mehta on Thursday visited the BPCL LPG gas plant at Sakroda to review the current status of gas demand and supply in the district.

During the visit, the Collector inspected the facilities at the plant and obtained detailed information from officials regarding the distribution system, storage capacity, and supply management. BPCL officials informed him that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in the district is completely normal and adequate stock is available to meet consumer demand.
The Collector also reviewed the storage arrangements, safety standards, and the cylinder filling process at the plant. He directed officials to ensure strict adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to safety and quality.
He also sought information about the grievance redressal mechanism related to LPG supply and instructed officials to resolve consumer complaints promptly to avoid inconvenience to the public.
Appealing to citizens, Collector Mehta said that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in the district remains normal and there is no need for panic or to pay attention to rumours. He assured that the administration and concerned agencies are closely monitoring the supply system.
District Supply Officer First and trainee Srishti Dabas, DSO Second Manish Bhatnagar, and other officials from the supply department were also present during the inspection.
Minimum 25-Day Gap Required for Gas Booking
The District Supply Officer informed that under new guidelines, domestic LPG consumers must maintain a minimum gap of 25 days between gas cylinder bookings. Consumers have been advised to book their next cylinder only after the stipulated period to avoid inconvenience.
Supply to Essential Institutions to Continue
The officer also stated that while supply of commercial gas cylinders has been regulated, essential services such as hospitals, hostels, educational institutions, and mid-day meal programmes will continue to receive gas supply as before to ensure that essential services remain unaffected.
Adequate Gas Stock Available in District
Officials confirmed that sufficient stock of domestic LPG cylinders is available in the district with all three oil companies—HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL—and citizens should not pay attention to rumours regarding shortages.
Control Room Established for Public Assistance
To ensure smooth LPG supply and prevent black marketing or illegal activities, a district-level control room has been set up on the instructions of the District Collector.
