Temperature Fluctuations Continue Across the State

Bhopal, February 24 – The weather in Madhya Pradesh continues to fluctuate, with a fresh spell of cold conditions returning. Chilly winds during the day and significantly cooler nights have marked the latest temperature shift across the state. On Sunday night, three cities recorded temperatures below 10°C, with Pachmarhi dropping to a chilly 6.1°C.

The eastern region of the state, including Jabalpur, Sagar, Shahdol, and Rewa, along with the Bhopal division, witnessed a notable dip in temperatures. Meteorologists predict that similar conditions will persist for the next two days, with day and night temperatures expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Residents can expect a mild winter chill on February 24 and 25.

Western Disturbances Behind the Cold Spell

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), multiple western disturbances are currently active, contributing to the temperature fluctuations. While the cold winds persist, rainfall is unlikely in the coming days.

  • On Monday, February 24, cold winds may sweep through Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior, keeping the daytime temperatures lower.
  • By February 25, a further dip in temperatures is expected before a gradual warming trend resumes.

On Sunday, most districts saw bright sunshine, yet chilly winds maintained a cold sensation across the region. In Bhopal, wind speeds ranged between 8 to 10 km/h, while similar weather changes were observed in Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur.
