CM Bhajanlal Sharma Reviews Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre, Directs Strict Action Against Cyber Fraudsters

Jaipur, July 18: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday inspected the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C) and the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline operating under it at the Police Headquarters. During the visit, he reviewed the state’s efforts to curb cyber crime and directed officials to intensify action against cyber criminals.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with senior police officers and instructed them to increase public awareness about cyber crimes through social media and other communication platforms. He also directed that special awareness campaigns be conducted in schools and colleges.

Focus on Stronger Enforcement and Awareness

Sharma instructed officials to strengthen coordination with banking institutions to ensure the immediate blocking of bank accounts linked to cyber fraud. He also emphasised the use of modern technology and data analysis for faster action against cyber criminals.

The Chief Minister directed police to take stringent action not only against cyber fraudsters but also against their properties. He further stated that individuals who provide their bank accounts for use in cyber crimes should also face strict legal action.

He said the state government is continuously working to prevent cyber crime and directed officials to arrange a new building for the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre.

Helpline 1930 Expanded

Police officials informed the Chief Minister that nearly 95 per cent of complaints received through the 1930 helpline are being registered and processed on time.

They said the helpline, which initially operated with 30 lines, has now been expanded to 53 lines and is functioning in three shifts. The facility will soon be upgraded to 60 lines to ensure timely response to every complainant.

Officials also informed him that improvements were recorded in call-taker lines and response rates under TCS and NCRP during June 2026. More than 412 e-Zero FIRs have been registered in cyber fraud cases involving losses exceeding ₹5 lakh.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has selected 54 police personnel in 2026 for specialised training in digital security and cyber investigation.

Special Operations Against Cyber Crime

Police officials highlighted several special drives launched against cyber criminals, including Operation Vajra Prahar, Operation Cyber Shield, Operation Anti Virus and Operation Mule Hunter. These operations have resulted in arrests, refunds to victims and the blocking of SIM cards and IMEI numbers linked to cyber fraud.

SLBC Meeting on July 21

In compliance with the Chief Minister’s directions, a Special State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting will be held on July 21 under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary V. Srinivas to improve coordination between banks and cyber police.

It was noted that the Rajasthan government allocated ₹100 crore in the 2026-27 Budget for establishing the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre. R4C is currently operating from the Police Headquarters, while the process of establishing an advanced AI-enabled 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline Call Centre is progressing rapidly.

Chief Minister Interacts with Complainant

During the inspection, Sharma interacted with Bhairaram, a complainant who had called the 1930 helpline from Barmer regarding an alleged cyber fraud linked to increasing Instagram followers.

He reviewed the entire complaint-handling process, from registration of the complaint to communication with the concerned police station and bank. The Chief Minister also examined the Cyber Crime Control Centre’s live dashboard and tracking system.

Sharma appealed to the public to immediately report cyber fraud incidents through the 1930 helpline so that effective action can be taken during the crucial “golden hours.”

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma and senior officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, Home Department and Police Headquarters.
