Chhattisgarh to Launch Online Coaching for NEET-JEE in Surguja
Surguja district in Chhattisgarh will offer free online coaching for NEET and JEE aspirants from government schools, starting October 17.
Surguja, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran) : In a significant move to provide equal opportunities for economically disadvantaged students, Surguja district in Chhattisgarh is set to become the first district in the state to launch live online coaching for NEET and JEE aspirants from government schools. This initiative, supported by the School Education Department and funded by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), will offer free online coaching to students across 35 government higher secondary schools in the district.
The program aims to ensure that financial constraints and the high fees of private coaching institutions do not hinder the dreams of talented students aspiring to become doctors or engineers. Live online classes will be conducted simultaneously in selected schools, allowing students to prepare for competitive exams without the need to travel to larger cities or incur heavy expenses on private coaching.
Five government schools from each block have been chosen for this initiative, which is seen as a crucial step towards improving access to quality competitive exam preparation, particularly for tribal and remote area students in Surguja. The formal launch of the program will take place on October 17, led by Rajesh Agarwal, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts, during an event at the Ambikapur Collectorate conference hall.
Surguja has a significant tribal population and boasts an abundance of academic talent. However, many promising students are unable to fulfill their dreams due to a lack of adequate resources and access to specialized coaching. For numerous students from economically weaker families, the high fees of private coaching and the costs associated with traveling to major educational hubs have made preparing for NEET and JEE a daunting challenge.
The district administration’s initiative aims to bridge this gap by providing structured coaching facilities within government schools. Ajit Vasant, the Collector of Surguja, believes this program could greatly enhance students’ opportunities for competitive exam preparation, enabling them to compete with candidates who have access to expensive coaching services. He also mentioned that a group of selected students from the 35 schools would be sent to Raipur for coaching.
If implemented effectively, this initiative could serve as a model for other districts in Chhattisgarh, especially those with significant tribal and economically disadvantaged populations.
