NEET PG Counseling Reporting Begins Today
Mumbai, October 26: The reporting process for colleges allocated to doctors who secured seats in Round 1 of NEET PG Counseling 2026 has commenced today, October 26, 2026. Candidates must complete the document verification process by November 2.
This update is crucial for young doctors awaiting admission to medical postgraduate (MD/MS) courses. Following the release of the seat allotment list by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) on October 24, the reporting process at the designated institutions has officially started.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in Round 1 are required to complete their admission process at their respective medical colleges before November 2, 2026. Failure to report on time or present incomplete documents may result in the cancellation of their seats.
Understanding ‘Freeze’ and ‘Float’ Options in Admission
After the allotment results, candidates will have two main options to choose from, which must be selected carefully.
Freeze Option: If a candidate is satisfied with the allocated seat and college and does not wish to participate in further rounds, they should select the ‘Freeze’ option. They must then report physically to the allotted college to pay the admission fee.
Float Option: If a candidate wishes to retain their current seat while attempting to secure a better seat in the next counseling round, they should choose the ‘Float’ option and complete the online document verification process.
Essential Documents for Reporting
Candidates must carry all original certificates along with a set of self-attested photocopies when reporting to the college. The required documents include:
NEET PG admit card and rank card/mark sheet
Seat allotment letter issued by MCC
MBBS degree or provisional certificate
Mark sheets of all professional examinations of MBBS
Certificate of completion of 12 months of mandatory internship
Candidates are advised to prepare these documents in advance to ensure a smooth reporting process.
