Chaitra Navratri Begins on March 30, Chhath Mahaparva from April 1

The auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri will commence on March 30 (Sunday) with Kalash Sthapana in Pravardhman Yoga. This day holds immense religious significance as it marks the divine creation of the universe by Lord Brahma.

Chaitra Navratri

Renowned astrologer Pandit Manoj Pandey shared on Wednesday that the Pratipada Tithi will begin at 4:33 PM on March 29 and will remain until 2:14 PM on March 30. Since the day aligns with Udaya Tithi, the Kalash Sthapana will take place on March 30. This Chaitra Navratri brings multiple auspicious planetary alignments, making it particularly beneficial for devotees observing the fast.

Maa Durga Arrives on an Elephant, Symbolizing Prosperity

As Navratri begins on Sunday, it is believed that Maa Durga will arrive on an elephant, which, according to Bhagavata Purana, signifies prosperity and peace. This year, the festival will span eight days, concluding on April 6, as the Panchami Tithi is deemed insignificant. The Maha Ashtami Vrat will be observed on April 5, followed by Maha Navami, Kanya Pujan, Havan, and Aarti on April 6.

Chhath Mahaparva Begins on April 1 with Nahay-Khay

The Chaiti Chhath Mahaparva will commence on April 1 with Nahay-Khay and will conclude on April 4 with Udaymaan Surya Arghya. What makes Chaiti Chhath unique is its alignment with Chaitra Navratri. On Nahay-Khay, devotees worship Devi Kushmanda, while Kharna is dedicated to Devi Skandamata. The Sandhya Arghya on April 3 honors Mata Katyayani, and the Pratah Arghya on April 4 is devoted to Mata Kalaratri.

Observing Chaiti Chhath during Navratri is believed to bring blessings from Chhathi Maiya and the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga, ensuring health, prosperity, and child blessings. This sacred vrat is especially beneficial for women wishing for offspring and family well-being.
