New Delhi, June 6: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided significant relief to students by extending the deadline for applying for verification of answer sheets and re-evaluation of Class 12 board exam results. In a move aimed at benefiting students, the board has decided to extend the application deadline by one day.
Previously set for midnight on June 6, 2026, the new deadline is now midnight on June 7, 2026.
CBSE stated that this decision was made to offer students additional time and better convenience, allowing them to complete their application process without any hassle. The board has urged all students to pay attention to the revised schedule and submit their applications within the stipulated timeframe. Through the verification and re-evaluation process, students can request a review and reassessment of their answer sheets following their exam results.
This decision comes at a time when the board’s post-result services portal is under scrutiny due to investigations into cyberattacks. This portal is used by millions of students across the country to apply for verification and re-evaluation.
On Friday, the Delhi Police registered a First Information Report based on a complaint from CBSE. The board had informed the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit that several coordinated and technically advanced cyberattack attempts were made to disrupt the portal.
However, officials have clarified that there has been no tampering with any CBSE data or systems. According to the board, multiple cyberattack attempts occurred on the very first day after the portal was launched at 7 AM on June 2, but the portal remained fully secure and operational.
