New Delhi, February 16: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence the board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 on February 17. On the first day, Class 10 students will take their Mathematics (Standard and Basic) paper, while Class 12 students will sit for their Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship exams. Both examinations are scheduled to start at 10:30 AM.
Students are advised to arrive at their examination centers by 10 AM, as entry will close after this time. It is recommended that students reach at least half an hour early. The board has instructed schools to contact them immediately on the exam day if there are any issues related to the question papers.
According to the guidelines issued by the board, students must carry a hard copy of their admit card to the examination hall; entry will not be permitted without it. They are also allowed to bring their school ID, blue pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, and a transparent water bottle. However, all electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, cameras, and any written materials such as bags or books, are strictly prohibited in the examination center.
Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the examination controller of CBSE, mentioned that several national and international events are scheduled during the examination period, which could lead to traffic jams, route diversions, or delays. Therefore, students are advised to leave home early and plan their travel considering local traffic, weather, and distance.
The board has also urged schools to provide full support to students and parents. In a recent communication, CBSE reminded all affiliated schools to submit any objections or suggestions related to the question papers through the established process, as many schools have failed to follow the correct procedure in the past.
The board has noted that some schools have been sending comments about the question papers to incorrect email addresses, and many objections have been submitted days after the exams. Some complaints have been vague, simply stating that “the question is wrong” without specifying the error. To streamline the process, the board has issued clear instructions ahead of the exams.
All objections or observations must be uploaded only on the OECMS portal. If clarification is needed, details should be sent to the designated email address. Objections related to the question papers must be submitted on the same day as the exam. The board has clearly stated that if objections are not submitted on time, are unclear, or do not follow CBSE guidelines, no action will be taken on them.
CBSE has appealed to all school heads for cooperation so that appropriate measures can be taken in a timely manner if necessary.
