Bomb Threat Causes Panic at Kolkata Airport

New Delhi, February 14: Panic erupted at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Saturday morning after a note indicating a bomb threat was discovered on an IndiGo flight bound for Shillong.

According to reports, flight 6E-7304 was scheduled to depart around 9:15 AM when a crew member found a handwritten note in the aircraft’s restroom claiming there was a bomb on board. Upon receiving this information, security agencies immediately sprang into action.

As a precaution, all passengers were swiftly evacuated from the aircraft. The plane was then taken to an isolation bay at the airport, where a thorough inspection was initiated following standard operating procedures (SOP).

The airport director stated that all necessary precautions were being taken to ensure the safety of passengers and the aircraft. A security team and bomb disposal squad are conducting an extensive search of the plane, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The situation created a tense atmosphere at the airport for a brief period; however, authorities have assured that the situation is under control and have urged passengers to remain patient. Officials emphasized that passenger safety is the top priority, and further actions will be determined only after the investigation is completed.

Currently, the inspection process is ongoing, with relevant agencies meticulously examining all aspects to neutralize any potential threats.

Earlier, on January 30, an IndiGo flight returning from Kuwait to Delhi received a bomb threat, leading to an emergency landing in Ahmedabad. That flight was carrying 186 people, including 180 passengers.
