BJP essential to safeguard, take forward the ancient identity of Sangam City: Yogi

Prayagraj, Feb 25 : Launching more attacks on previous governments helmed by the SP and BSP on Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that all they did was plunder public wealth to fulfill their own corrupt plans. Without mincing words, Yogi in his address said, “Previous governments were inefficient because they never had pure intentions. They failed to preserve the ancient identity of Prayagraj. Their celebrations were only limited to Saifai, today, be it Ayodhya’s grand Deepotsava, Kashi’s Dev Deepawali, Mathura’s Rangotsava or Prayagraj’s Divya-Bhavya Kumbh, every event is celebrated with equal enthusiasm and devotion.” Besides addressing a series of public meetings in the Sangam City, CM Yogi also staged a mega roadshow, exhorting people to support the BJP for its spectacular triumph. Highly responsive crowd greeted him with the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ all through the roads of Prayagraj. Flower petals were showered on him while the buildings were full of people to see and greet him. Maintaining that BJP’s double-engine government is essential to ‘safeguard’ and promote the ancient, cultural and spiritual identity of Prayagraj, Yogi said, “Every religious place has immense respect for us. Today we are not only organising the Kumbh at a grand level but also, Maa Vindhyavasini Dham and Maharishi Valmiki’s place are being beautified. “The previous government played with the faith of people and crushed their religious sentiments. Earlier, Kanwar Yatras were stopped. Now there is a kanwar yatra amid chants of ‘Har Har Bum Bum’. No one can dare to stop a Kanwar yatra. That gives you the picture of New Uttar Pradesh,” he added. Targeting the SP, the Chief Minister commented, “What was the condition of Prayagraj five years back? The mafia and criminals used to harass the public, traders. “Earlier, the region was dominated by mafias, but after the formation of BJP government, the criminals have vanished from the state and are begging for their lives,” he added. He said, “The country’s Covid management has been excellent under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The government saved both lives and livelihood, provided free tests, free treatment, and free vaccination. If there was an SP-BSP government, this vaccine would have been black-marketed.” The double-engine government of BJP was distributing ration free to the poor. The same was not possible during the tenure of SP and BSP governments, added the Chief Minister. He said, “Had SP been there, their henchmen would have sold the ration. Before 2017, the goons of SP used to gulp the ration of the poor. BSP’s elephant has such a huge belly that it could eat the ration of the entire state.” The Chief Minister maintained that if the BJP government is formed, free LPG will be given to every poor during Diwali and Holi. He also said that a free scooty will be provided to meritorious daughters. The amount of money given under Kanya Sumangala Yojana will be increased to Rs 25,000 while under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, Rs one lakh will be transferred. He also announced to bring the farmer’s tubewell bill to zero. Furthermore, Yogi assured that two crore tablets and smartphones will be given to the youth. Through this, the youth will be able to prepare and study for the online examination and the government will also bear the cost of digital access. He promised that his government will bear the expenses of online education/exams, preparation of any competitions. “Jab hum Yuvaon ko smartphone de rahe the toh SP ke log Pakistan ka gungaan kar rahe the,” Yogi remarked. Stating that Prayagraj was a centre for lakhs of aspirants preparing for various competitive examinations, Yogi said, “In the next five years, the BJP will work to connect one member of every family with a job, employment, or self-employment scheme. “They’re (Opposition) trying their best to stop BJP, but BJP has your (public’s) blessings. We will cross the 325-seat mark in UP again, but it can only happen when BJP’s lotus will bloom in the Sangam city,” said the CM. Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party, Yogi said, “SP leaders are well aware of the election results and that is why, they are all ready to quit the state after March 10.” MB RJ
