On February 18, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for the biennial elections to fill 37 vacancies from 10 states in the Rajya Sabha. According to the commission, voting will take place on March 16 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with counting of votes scheduled for the same day at 5:00 PM. The term of the 37 members elected from 10 states will end in April 2026.

To ensure a transparent and fair election process, observers will be deployed to monitor the entire procedure. The outgoing members represent Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana.
