Udaipur, May 1, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): A noted bhajan singer from the Mewar region died in a road accident after his car overturned on National Highway-27 in the Dabok police station area early Friday morning.

According to Station House Officer Gopal Nath, the deceased has been identified as Dhanraj Joshi, a resident of Badwai in Chittorgarh. The driver, Rajendra Soneri, was injured and is undergoing treatment.
Police said the incident occurred around 5:00 am between Daroli village and the airport stretch. Joshi was returning home after attending a bhajan sandhya at Saiman village in Haldighati. His son and other companions had earlier got down in Udaipur due to personal work.
During the journey, the car lost balance, climbed onto the divider and overturned. Both Joshi and the driver sustained serious injuries. Passersby informed the police, who reached the spot and shifted them to a hospital in Dabok, where doctors declared Joshi dead.
Dhanraj Joshi was widely popular in the Mewar and Marwar regions for his devotional singing and distinctive presentation style. He had built a strong connection with audiences through his performances. He had a significant following on social media and came from a family associated with devotional singing traditions.
