
New Delhi, July 29 (Udaipur Kiran): August is also going to be a month full of bank holidays. Banks will remain closed for 13 days this month. Due to various reasons including Independence Day and Janmashtami, banks will remain closed at different places for 7 days. Additionally, due to weekly holidays on four Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, banks will remain closed for 2 days.
According to the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for banks, banks will remain closed for a total of 13 days in the month of August. However, online banking, ATMs, and internet banking facilities will be available 24×7 for customers during bank holidays.
List of bank holidays in the month of August:
- August 3: Banks will remain closed in Agartala on Saturday on the occasion of Ker Puja.
- August 4: Banks will remain closed due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
- August 8: Banks in Sikkim will remain closed on Thursday on the occasion of Tendong Lo Rum Fat.
- August 10: Banks will remain closed as it is the second Saturday of the month.
- August 11: Banks will remain closed due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
- August 13: Banks in Manipur will remain closed on Tuesday on the occasion of Patriots’ Day.
- August 15: All banks across the country will remain closed on Thursday on the occasion of Independence Day/Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi).
- August 18: Banks will remain closed due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
- August 19: Banks in Tripura, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on Monday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan/Jhulan Purnima/Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s Birthday.
- August 20: Banks will remain closed on Tuesday on the occasion of Sri Narayan Guru Jayanti.
- August 24: Banks will remain closed as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.
- August 25: Banks will remain closed due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
- August 26: Banks in Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar will remain closed on Monday on the occasion of Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Janmashtami. Thus, banks will remain closed for three consecutive days from 24th to 26th August.
