Baloch Republican Guards Claim Responsibility for Attack on Road Construction Site in Balochistan

Quetta, May 1: The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have claimed responsibility for an attack that occurred on April 29, damaging machinery at a road construction site near Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan, Pakistan.

According to local media reports, police officials stated that unidentified assailants fired rockets at the site, resulting in the destruction of machines and halting work. They mentioned that an investigation is underway, and there have been no reports of casualties in this incident.

BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch issued a statement claiming that their fighters targeted a “military company” working on a government construction project in the area. They asserted that the company’s machinery was completely destroyed.

The statement indicated that the attack took place on the road near Pit Feeder Pirupal in the Dera Murad Jamali area. The spokesperson warned local contractors to stay away from “government projects,” or they would have to bear the responsibility for their lives and financial losses. He also stated that the organization takes responsibility for this attack and will continue such operations until “Balochistan’s independence” is achieved.

Last month, both the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and BRG claimed responsibility for several attacks in the Awaran, Zhao, Basima, and Sibi areas of Balochistan, targeting security forces and government installations.

In March, BRG also took responsibility for damaging a major gas pipeline that delivers gas from the Sui gas field to Karachi. According to spokesperson Dostain Baloch, this explosion caused significant damage to the pipeline.

BRG reiterated its opposition to the “exploitation” of Balochistan’s natural resources and vowed to continue targeting such activities. Recent days have seen an increase in attacks in Balochistan, with the Pakistani army and police being targeted, resulting in considerable loss of life and damage to infrastructure.
