Bajaj Auto, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, is trimming its portfolio in 2025, discontinuing several underperforming models. Following the earlier exit of the Pulsar F250 and Platina 110 ABS, the company has now pulled the plug on the Bajaj CT125X commuter motorcycle. The decision to discontinue the rugged-looking CT125X comes after a period of sluggish sales, making it unviable for the automaker to continue its production.
CT125X Removed Amid Weak Demand
The Bajaj CT lineup previously featured two models: the CT110X and the CT125X. While the CT110X remains available for purchase, the CT125X has been officially delisted from Bajaj Auto’s website. Launched as one of the most affordable 125cc commuter motorcycles in India, the CT125X carried an ex-showroom price tag of ₹74,106. Despite its attractive pricing and rugged design aimed at offering durability on rough terrains, it failed to generate significant traction in the competitive commuter bike market.
The rising demand for premium, feature-rich motorcycles and more powerful commuter options likely contributed to the CT125X’s lacklustre sales performance. Bajaj Auto’s decision to discontinue the model appears to be a strategic move to focus on more profitable and high-demand segments.
CT125X: Specifications Recap
Before being discontinued, the Bajaj CT125X occupied a key spot above the CT110X in the brand’s commuter motorcycle lineup. It was powered by a 124.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine capable of delivering 10.7 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine came mated to a five-speed manual transmission, ensuring smooth performance for daily commutes.
Designed for rugged use, the CT125X came with tough build quality, a high ground clearance, crash guards, and a sturdy carrier, making it suitable for semi-urban and rural markets. However, its utilitarian appeal wasn’t enough to offset the declining interest from consumers in this segment.
Other Models Axed: Platina 110 ABS and Pulsar F250
The discontinuation of the CT125X follows Bajaj Auto’s earlier move to halt production of the Pulsar F250 and Platina 110 ABS. The Pulsar F250, which was positioned as a sportier commuter, was discontinued just seven months after it received a model update. Despite high expectations, it struggled to perform well in the market.
Similarly, the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS—touted for its advanced braking system—faced weak demand over the past couple of years. As a result, the ABS-equipped variant was withdrawn from the lineup. Notably, the Platina 110 drum brake variant remains on sale and continues to cater to budget-conscious consumers across India.

Bajaj Auto’s recent portfolio reshuffling indicates a strategic shift towards streamlining operations and focusing on high-demand, high-margin products. The company’s decision to phase out underperforming models reflects its intent to allocate resources to models that better resonate with evolving market demands.
As competition in the two-wheeler market intensifies, Bajaj is likely to channel its efforts into strengthening its popular Pulsar, Dominar, and Avenger ranges, along with upcoming electric mobility solutions.
