Guna, February 14: A case of indecent behavior and harassment involving schoolgirls has emerged in Guna, Madhya Pradesh. An auto driver, accused of making inappropriate gestures in front of two eighth-grade students, has been arrested following a complaint.
The incident took place at the Government Sandipani New School in Dubey Colony. The two students had gone to the school restroom when the accused, Akbar Ahmed, allegedly opened the boys’ toilet door and made obscene gestures while attempting to call them over. The frightened students managed to escape and informed their parents about the incident upon returning home.
The parents then approached the school management and the city police station to file a written complaint, expressing their concern over their daughters’ fear stemming from the incident. The school principal accompanied the parents to the police station, where a report was lodged.
Based on the students’ complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST Act. The arrest occurred on February 13, a Friday.
On February 14, Superintendent of Police Ankit Soni stated that the two students had come forward with their parents to file the complaint. Following a preliminary investigation, the auto driver was apprehended, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
Superintendent Soni informed a news agency that the police had learned that the auto driver had been standing in front of the girls’ restroom, making lewd gestures. The Guna police took immediate action, visiting the scene and speaking with the students before registering the case against the accused under appropriate sections of the law.
