Auto Driver Alleges Assault by GRP Officer in Chittorgarh
An auto driver has accused a GRP officer of assault and threats following a parking dispute at Chittorgarh railway station.
Chittorgarh, October 15 (Udaipur Kiran) : An auto driver named Sahil has accused Assistant Sub-Inspector Naresh Kumar of the Government Railway Police (GRP) of assault and making death threats during an altercation at Chittorgarh railway station. The incident occurred over a dispute regarding parking in a no-parking zone.
According to Sahil, he was at the station on Tuesday night to assist his differently-abled relative in boarding a train. Upon returning, he discovered that the back seat of his auto was missing. After inquiring, he learned that GRP personnel had removed the seat because it was parked illegally.
Sahil stated that he was willing to pay the fine but was then taken to the police station by ASI Kumar, where he alleges he was assaulted and had his already injured hand twisted. Following the incident, he felt unwell and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
In response to the allegations, the Ajmer GRP SP has ordered the ASI to be suspended pending an investigation into the matter. The GRP is currently looking into the details of the case.
