New Delhi, June 26: Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain expressed his dismay over the allegations of irregularities in the donation box of the Ram Temple. He emphasized the need to establish a system that prevents such incidents in the future.
In an interview with a news agency on Friday, Jain stated, “I never thought in my life that such allegations would be made against the Ram Temple Trust, as this trust was formed under the guidance of the Supreme Court, which included many skilled and trained individuals. We are very saddened by the emergence of these irregularities.” He noted that both he and his father were part of the movement aimed at creating a robust system to ensure the integrity of the Ram Temple’s management.
Jain also commented on the resignations that followed the allegations, asserting that these were based on moral grounds. However, he clarified that such resignations would not impact the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is examining every aspect of the case. “We want a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure that such incidents do not arise in the near future,” he added.
He further demanded that the control of the temple be placed outside government oversight. “If such issues arise even after including so many intellectuals in the system, we need to be concerned. We must create a system that prevents such occurrences,” Jain stated.
Addressing those who have questioned the existence of the Ram Temple, he remarked, “Those who have tried to mislead people by misinterpreting the verses of the Ramayana do not want the situation to normalize. They have found an issue to politicize.”
Jain challenged critics of the Ram Temple donation scandal, asking why they remain silent about mismanagement in temples in Karnataka. “These individuals repeatedly mention the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to gain political advantage,” he concluded.
